How to Apply JS Polymer Cementitious Waterproof Coating (Video Guide)
JS Polymer Cementitious Waterproof Coating is a highly versatile, eco-friendly two-component system consisting of a liquid polymer emulsion and a high-quality cement-based powder. When mixed, it cures into a tough, highly elastic, and seamlessly integrated waterproof membrane. Because of its cementitious nature, it bonds exceptionally well with concrete substrates and tile adhesives, making it the industry standard for indoor wet areas like bathrooms, kitchens, swimming pools, and exterior basements.

Standard Application Steps
Substrate Preparation (Wetting is Key): Ensure the concrete surface is clean and solid. Crucial step: Pre-wet the substrate with clean water until it is damp, but ensure there is absolutely no standing/pooling water. A dry substrate will absorb the water from the coating too quickly, leading to cracking.
Mixing the Two Components: Pour the liquid polymer emulsion into a clean bucket first. Then, slowly add the cementitious powder while continuously mixing with an electric stirrer. Mix for 3-5 minutes until you get a smooth, lump-free paste.
Detail Reinforcement: Apply a first layer of the mixed coating to corners, pipe penetrations, and drains, and embed a reinforcing fiberglass mesh.
First Coat Application: Apply an even coat over the entire surface using a roller or stiff brush. Do not apply too thick in a single pass (aim for approx. 0.5mm - 0.8mm).
Second Coat (Crosswise): Wait for the first coat to become dry to the touch (usually 4-8 hours). Apply the second coat in a direction perpendicular (crosswise) to the first coat to ensure full coverage.
Technical Q&A (Consultation Center)
Q: Can I lay ceramic tiles directly over the cured JS coating?A: Yes, absolutely! This is its biggest advantage. Its cementitious rough surface provides an excellent mechanical bond for standard tile adhesives.
Q: Can I mix it manually by hand?A: We strongly advise against manual mixing. An electric stirrer ensures the polymer and powder are perfectly homogenized, which is critical for the waterproofing performance.
